Profhilo ®

The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity. The treatment is suitable for men and women as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages.

As Profhilo® is injected just under the skin using very fine needles in pre-determined points, it is relatively painless; you may feel a short sting or scratch, but this is short-lived. Patients can opt for topical pain relief or anaesthetic before a Profhilo® treatment, but it is usually not needed. The procedure is very quick, taking only about 10 minutes.

There is no downtime with Profhilo®. However, it’s advisable to avoid alcohol, aspirin or anti-inflammatory medication in the 24 hours prior to the treatment. Vitamin C and Vitamin E can also increase the likelihood of bruising, but it is fine to use 48 hours after. Immediately afterwards, it’s important to avoid wearing make-up and strenuous exercise such as going to the gym, swimming or extreme sports and hot steam rooms and saunas for at least 24 hours.

You will need to avoid excessive sunlight for 48 hours after Profhilo® and wear a high SPF sunscreen. It’s important to know that if you expose your skin to the sun, this will only have a detrimental effect on your skin quality and hydration. Investing in good habits such as wearing SPF and a wide-brimmed hat when going into extreme sunlight, as well as having regular treatments such as Profhilo® will help your skin hugely, in the long-run.

Results from Profhilo® can last anything from 6 to 12 months, depending on your individual reaction and metabolism of the product.
